Recap of UIBC’s August 2022 Monthly Breakfast

This morning’s UIBC Monthly Breakfast included great conversation and strategic insights for local, small businesses. The King’s English co-owner Calvin Crosby moderated the discussion about how to encourage Utahns to shop local and buy local during Q3 and Q4. Insights from Calvin include:

• The idea that “as local business owners, we’re stronger together” is more salient than ever before.
• We need to encourage Utahns to think twice before choosing to buy from national retailers and big chains. “Before you click on a link online, ask yourself, ‘is there someone in my community I can go to instead?'”
• Since more cents out of every dollar that is spent at a locally-owned business is kept in the local community, the motto should be “find it here, buy it here, keep it here!”
