Join Us For “Essential Apps & Business Resources” Hosted by UIBC and the Utah LGBTQ+ Chamber
Chief problem solver, lead marketing genius, financial whiz… Running a small business means wearing a lot of hats. But the right business apps can make your life much easier – and help make your business more profitable. The problem is, there are thousands of apps to consider. Which ones are best for small businesses like yours? For answers to that and other questions about free resources for small businesses that the Salt Lake City Public Library offers, join us for “Essential Apps & Business Resources” on Feb. 25th from noon to 1:30pm.
This Wasatch Business Series lunch event begins with a brief discussion on how to weed through the seas of business apps to find the right one for your needs in a variety of areas including:
• Accounting and finance
• Inventory management
• POS and payments
• Time tracking and team management
• Communication
• Customer relationship management
• Project management and organization
Next, Barbara Chavira with the Salt Lake City Library will guide us through the many valuable free resources that the library offers for small businesses. This includes the many resources for doing market research and classes for learning key business software.
Finally, we’ll take a brief tour of the library’s Creative Lab, which has a multitude of free resources to help you market your business.
Come enjoy a great lunch and learn how to get the best apps and resources to help your business grow in 2020!

Chris VanGarrett is the founder and Chief Creative Officer of VanGarrett Media, and an ambassador for the Utah LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce. He cut his teeth in sales working for small startups, and was eventually asked to join the global sales force at Lenovo. After almost a decade running incredibly successful sales and influence campaigns at Lenovo, he realized that he wanted to make more of a difference in his own community. Along with his spouse Shala, he started VanGarrett Media, a social media marketing and consulting firm, which specializes in teaching small businesses how to communicate authentically with their customers.
