Vest Pocket 2016 Awardees Kim Angeli & Scott Anderson Honored at Special Luncheon Event
On May 25, 2016, Vest Pocket held its fourth annual awards luncheon at the Gallivan Center in downtown Salt Lake City. Salt Lake City Mayor Jackie Biskupski spoke at the event and presented the Independent Business Advocate Award to Kim Angeli, former director of the Downtown Farmers’ Market in Salt Lake City. The award honored Ms. Angeli’s several years of work in diligently promoting and strengthening the market, including many local food industry businesses. Mayor Biskupski also presented the Richard M. Wirick Achievement Award to Scott Anderson, President and CEO of Zions Bank Corporation, in recognition of his many years of business and community leadership, especially with respect to advancing local independent business issues. A good crowd of over 60 people attended the luncheon and were inspired by the reflections and stories of Mayor Biskupski and the awardees who spoke about the central role local, independent businesses play in the life of our community.
